Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X2 only got official a couple of days ago, but already there are several people lining up to show you the new Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone. HDblog managed to acquire one and take it for a pretty comprehensive ride in the ten minute video you can see after the cut, and then Sony Ericsson’s staff themselves line up to share their hands-on perspective.

The XPERIA X2 packs an 8.1-megapixel camera with autofocus, 3.2-inch WVGA resistive touchscreen display and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. There’s also quadband EDGE and triband HSPA, with two models tipped – the X2 and X2a – with one each for Euro and North American 3G frequencies.
What really work well are the little design details that Sony Ericsson have instilled into their second-generation smartphone design. Hidden LEDs and the discretely tasteful chrome trim add up to a pretty good looking handset. We’re expecting it to drop in Q4 2009, price tbc.
