Brad Pitt Putts Around France, Snaps N00dz in Japanese Softbank Cellphone Ad [Softbank]

Monday 15 December 2008 @ 11:15 pm

Here’s an unlikely combination brought to you by the Japanese ad industry: Hipster director Wes Anderson, sexy third-world-kid-adoptothoner Brad Pitt, topless French ladies and… Japan’s Softbank cellphones. The ad, for Softbank’s winter line, is a remake of the 1953 French film Les Vacances de Monseieur Hulot . Pitt looks over some fruit, helps push a stalled car, nearly gets run over by bikers and then snaps some nudie pics with his cellphone. Sacré bleu, Pitt-san! [ via Defamer ]

Apple Leopard 10.5.6 Update Pwns Pwnage, Breaks Jailbreak [IPwn]

Monday 15 December 2008 @ 10:00 pm

A warning for all you iPhone jailbreak enthusiasts: Apple’s newest OS software update contains quite a stink bomb—10.5.6 disables the Pwnage tool, making you unable to jailbreak or unlock your iPhone or iPod Touch. The update prevents jailbreaking by disabling the software at the computer level, a step up from what the company usually does: release a firmware update that re-locks the iPhone.

GAMEROX Chair Rocks Gamer Kids Into Shape [Chairs]

Monday 15 December 2008 @ 9:00 pm

In an attempt to combat child obesity while obese children combat each other, the GAMEROX chair strengthens your child’s midsection(s) and improve their posture while they play video games. Meant for children between the ages of 7 and 12, this chair will bend, bob and weave in all different directions, which will strengthen your child’s core balance, tone their muscles, and improve their posture as it forces your child to refrain from slumping and support himself

Guy Finds Stolen Xbox 360 With Wireless Controller [Xbox 360]

Monday 15 December 2008 @ 8:30 pm

Stolen goods recovered with technology playing off the perpetrator’s stupidity often require some fancy network footwork, but a student who found his stolen Xbox 360 using its wireless controller shows just how dumb thieves are . Like the PS3 recovered by tracking it down over the PSN network —but more stupidurrrrr—the moron who yanked this Missouri State student’s Xbox 360 failed to be completely thorough in his crime, even though he absconded with his illicit prize just 30 feet away from the scene. He left an Xbox 360 controller behind, and when the victim flicked it on, he noticed it was still connected the console, meaning it couldn’t be far.

Cheap MiniDisplayPort to HDMI Cable Coming to MonoPrice Next Month [MacBook]

Monday 15 December 2008 @ 8:00 pm

Mini DisplayPort might be an industry standard , but it doesn’t mean we miss HDMI on the new MacBooks any less. Apple isn’t helping us yet, either. But MonoPrice.com will reportedly answer our prayers next month . Sure you could grab an MDP to DVI cable from Apple, and then a separate DVI to HDMI cable and daisy chain ‘em, but that’s a huge, pricey pain in the ass. So thankfully, Monoprice.com, the internet’s favorite supplier of cheap cables, is promising to sell a MDP to HDMI cable late next month, which rocks for two reasons
