German labs set new mark for energy efficient white OLEDs

BASF and OSRAM ticked the OLED progress meter up one recently, with news out of Germany about new diodes that are both efficient (60 lumens per watt) and reproduce color accurately enough to meet international Energy Star standards.

TrueMotion 3D enables true motion control

While the Wiimote opened the door to motion-sensitive gaming, it’s obvious limitations even have Nintendo pushing the tech forward with add-ons like the MotionPlus — but a company called Sixense might have leapfrogged the field with a system called TrueMotion 3D. Rather than relying solely on an accelerometer, this controller uses a magnetic field to track both your hands’ positions in 3D space

We never got a satisfactory answer for why they disappeared in the first place, but it seems the majority of the Columbia Pictures’ movies on Netflix Instant Watch lists suddenly switched to “not available on Xbox 360″ are once again open for streaming to all devices.
