HTC , a company not particularly noted for their presence in the mobile phone market, has just released a new powerhouse converged handset called the S740. The direct successor to the S730 and S710 Vox, the new S740 features the same numeric keypad and full QWERTY keyboard on a slider.

A tip was sent in that there were several kiosks at the GreenHills-Virramall offering to unlock the iPhone 3G for a whooping Php10,000 a pop. Apparently, these unlockers are using the $40 Rebel SIM card to unlock the phones. The Php10,000 unlocking fee is a bit steep though.
